An accredited educational facility would require the student to write the National Dental Hygiene Certification Exam with the National Dental Hygiene Certification Board (NDHCB) prior to registration with the College of Dental Hygiene of British Columbia (CDHBC).

A non-accredited educational facility would require the student to write the National Dental Hygienist's Certification Exam with the NDHCB and in addition successfully complete a practical examination with the College Of Dental Hygienist's of British Columbia prior to registration with the CDHBC.
