Carole-Anne Mrsic PID, Dip DH, RDH and VCDH Instructor is an alumni of the University of British Columbia. She has twenty five years of extensive clinical experience in practical skills, professional decisions and behavioural practices. She has been an educator at the Vancouver College of Dental Hygiene since 2007, where her knowledge, motivational skills and ability to increase the students own self esteem during their learning journeys have been an integral part of her role.

Dr. Khakwany graduated from Boston University in 2003. He moved back to Canada in 2004 and made Vancouver his new home. Dr. Khakwany has an brand new private practice in Vancouver. His extracurricular activities involve playing golf and squash.

Gabriele Maycher RDH, Dip DH, PID, BSC, and VCDH Program Coordinator has 29 years of clinical experience in periodontics and has continued her passion through the profession of education. An entrepreneurial spirit supported by many years of diverse business leadership and or ownership. She possesses a broad range of executive, administrative, strategic and analytical skills and has been the Program Coordinator at the Vancouver College of Dental Hygiene Inc. since 2007.

Melody Weimer PID, Dip DT, RDT, Dip DH, RDH. Melody has 27 years of clinical experience in dental therapy and dental hygiene. She is presently studying for her Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction at Simon Fraser University. Melody works full time at a periodontal office; and has been teaching at VCDH since 2008. She has a second degree black belt in Taekwon Do and spends her recreational time training in the sport and practicing Bikram Yoga.

My name is Jason Cadman and I have been a dental hygienist for 17 years. I graduated from St. Clair College in Windsor Ontario in 1994. Shortly after graduating I moved to British Columbia to gain experience in a dental office in the northern town of Terrace. I moved to Vancouver in the spring of 1996 and have practiced in many offices throughout the Lower Mainland since that time. I began a career in teaching dental hygiene in 2007 at the Vancouver College of Dental Hygiene, and subsequently earned a Provincial Instructors Diploma from Vancouver Community College. I currently teach head and neck anatomy, pharmacology for local anesthetic and clinic. I am also working on a degree in psychology through distance education at Thompson Rivers University. I am married and have a young daughter named Mia. I enjoy swimming, cycling, reading and spending time with Mia.

Christine Chore BSc (c) PID, Dip DH, RDH has worked in the dental field since 1989; for the first nine years as a certified dental assistant and as a registered dental hygienist since 1999. Christine began instructing at VCDH in 2007 and is very passionate about the profession of dental hygiene and education. She is committed to providing a respectful, co-operative, interactive learning-centred environment, delivering high standards of current comprehensive dental hygiene education, and ensuring students enjoy their learning journey along the way.

Dr. Mathias Schede (DDS) has been working as a dentist in private practice for 20 years. Since 2005 he is a faculty member of the Faculty of Dentistry of The University of British Columbia where his main teaching area is fixed prosthodontics. He also has been teaching Problem Based Learning Modules at UBC where he has been nominated for a teaching award. In 2006 he joined VCDH as a faculty member and is currently teaching Microbiology and Pharmacology II.

Patricia Lim received her Master of Library and Information Studies degree from Dalhousie University in 2008, and she has been the librarian at the Vancouver College of Dental Hygiene since April 2011. You can find her at the library on Tuesdays from 2:30pm to 4:30pm

Laura Capacchione works as a didactic and clinical instructor at TCDHA. Concurrently, she works in a general practice as a restorative dental hygienist. She attained her Dental Hygiene Diploma from George Brown College in 2001. Laura has also obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Western Ontario. She is registered with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario (CDHO) and is a member of the Ontario Dental Hygienists' Association (ODHA). She has also recently completed a Teaching and Training Adults education program at Georgian College.
